Different Singapore Houses (Photos)

Gatoe, my friend from back home asked me to post photos of the types of houses in Singapore. I am sure it can also help other people coming to Singapore  to get a better idea. Here are some notes from my rental house searching:

  • Houses do not have garages
  • Most houses do not have conventional ovens. Negotiate
  • All stoves are gas
  • All houses are multi storey except Bungalows. Bungalows can also have more than one level.
  • All houses have airconditioning, but not all thru the whole house. Check
  • Partially furnished includes aircons, curtains, washer, dryer and some TV,s Check
  • Shower and bath configurations vary and must be checked
  • Most houses do not have gardens or very small
  • Most houses can only fit one car. People park in the street
  • Forget about a swimming pool unless you have stacks of money
  • Housing is "cheaper" outside the city
  • Terrace houses have windows in the front and back. Not on the sides because of the walls.
  • Bishan and Serangoon is nice areas to look for housing. 11 kilometers outside the city.
  • If you have pets like I do your choices will be limited.

  1. That cluster house is the best in that list. It looks very classy and sophisticated. And it's definitely a plus that tit has pools and a gym. Which of these sights you would prefer if you were to choose?

  2. Hi Rodger

The Condo apartments also have pools and gyms and are typically bigger. My choice would be a condo but we have dogs. Also depends on your budget.
